PILP Stipend Amount Increased

October 5th, 2006

PILP is excited to announce an increase in the amount awarded for Summer Stipends. Starting in the Summer of 2007, recipients of full stipends will receive $5,000 for 10 weeks of fulltime service – $1,000 more than in previous years.

The number of stipends PILP is able to distribute depends on the success of our yearly fundraising efforts. Therefore, if we raise the same amount as in previous years, the number of stipends will necessarily decrease. However, we feel that $12.50 per hour (as opposed to the previous $10 per hour) will better enable stipend recipients to support themselves as they promote public interest law.

We invite you to support our future recipients by donating on-line or by attending the 17th Annual PILP Auction at the Law School on Saturday, February 24, 2007.

Warm regards,

The PILP Board
