California Tribe invests in housing company

“The Mesa Grande Band of Mission Indians is buying a 25 percent stake in a housing factory in Otay Mesa, California.
The tribe is using a $1.25 million federal grant to invest in the factory. The goal is to encourage employment and economic development.
The Paradigm Group says the housing factory is doing well. “We have a much greater demand than we do supply,†chief executive Mike Smith told The San Diego Union-Tribune.”

Today is November 13th 2008. Where’s the demand? Nobody I know has a job at this factory. And the few who were hired ended up with bounced checks.
