Cobell settlement derailed by US Senate
July 24th, 2010
On Thursday, the U.S. Senate rejected the $3.4 billion government settlement with American Indians.
The Senate passed an almost $60 billion war funding bill — but not before stripping out the $3.4 billion settlement that had been approved by the House.
The Senate’s approval would have given the Obama administration the authority to settle a class-action lawsuit filed in 1996 by Elouise Cobell of Browning, Mont. Between 300,000 and 500,000 Native Americans claim the Interior Department mismanaged billions of dollars held in trust by the government.
Thursday’s vote marks the second time the settlement has failed to pass the Senate. It was originally included in the Democrats’ jobs-agenda bill that was caught in a filibuster last month.

It is sad to see that “Native Americans” after all these years dont have same rights as all Americans. I think they should be respected more and have fair share of all benefits.

What did you expect. We are not Americans and will never be Americans in the eyes of the government or by the Creator. We are members of the red race, guardians of the earth. It’s time we unite all tribes in north American, separate ourselves from the invaders and show them from example not force how to properly live with respect to our mother earth.
The more money we get the more greed that infects our race.
