Protest walk in Cortez Colorado

August 31st, 2007

The Southwest Intertribal Voice is holding a walk in Cortez, Colorado, on Saturday to protest racial intolerance, according to the Farmington Daily Times newspaper. The event follows a race-related beating in the town last November. The group hopes to raise awareness about racism in border towns.  Cortez is near the Ute Mountain Ute Reservation, the Southern Ute Reservation and the Navajo Nation.

I think it is a great thing to do. We forget that natural man was not by any means racist and in fact loved to combine efforts with those who had similar goals.

Can’t believe the world we live in.
