I plan to read this book-and its rather significant that I didn’t hear of it before I searched American Indian Arts on the internet. Those of you from the Cherokee tribe might be interested in a historical novel by David Marion Wilkinson, titled “Oblivion’s Altar”. It is a well researched novel about the Cherokee in their homeland and the events that led to their part in the “Trail of Tears”. Indeed, even if you are not Cherokee, you may find this novel very informative. Wilkinson is not American Indian, but treats the subject with due care and diligence.
