Miller speaking in Philadelphia March 2

Professor Miller will be speaking on the subject of his book, Native America, Discovery and Conquered: Thomas Jefferson, Lewis & Clark, and Manifest Destiny, at the American Philosophical Society in Philadelphia on March 2. The APS is the oldest learned society in the United States. It was created in 1745 by Benjamin Franklin and others. Thomas Jefferson was APS president for twenty years, even spanning the time he was the President of the United States.

After all the special touring exhibits, TV documentaries, articles and books written about Lewis & Clark and their role following the Louisiana Purchase, I thought I’d heard it all. Un-uh. After hearing your provocative presentation, now I want to know even more!
