Interlibrary Loan Services

If the Law Library or the Watzek Library on the Lewis & Clark College campus do not own the books, periodicals or documents that you need, Interlibrary Loan is a resource to consider. The Library can often locate and borrow materials through several systems.

About Summit

For fast results first try Summit, a cooperative project of 37 participating colleges and universities in Oregon, Washington and Idaho. Students, faculty and staff can request materials directly through Summit using their 7 digit Lewis & Clark ID number. Items will generally be ready for pickup in 2-3 days.

Items borrowed from Summit may be kept for 60 days (except for media and other specialized items, which have 6-day checkout periods). Library patrons can track the status of their Summit requests by accessing their Summit account online. Summit does charge fifty cents per day in overdue fines.

Interlibrary loan is available to current Law Students, Law Faculty and Law Staff only. If you have questions or wish to request materials via Interlibrary Loan, please try our online form, call the Circulation Desk at (503) 768-6676 or email .

The Library will process your request through the OCLC WorldCat database which contains more than 100 million records for books and other library materials. The time to obtain Interlibrary Loan materials may range from three days to three weeks depending upon the lending library. Therefore, it is wise to plan ahead for this service.
