500,000 Volumes!

This Spring the Law Library will celebrate an exciting milestone, the addition of our 500,000th volume. From the humblest of beginnings - 10,000 volumes in 1965, 120,000 volumes in 1978 when Professor Peter Nycum became Library Director - the Library has blossomed to one of both quality and quantity.

While boasting a comprehensive collection of Anglo-American law materials, the Library also contains an unsurpassed collection of Environmental and Natural Resources Law and Policy materials - over 8,000 titles and 15,000 volumes.

We will be celebrating this milestone throughout the 2004-2005 academic year with several events - beginning Sept. 15 with an ice cream party and culminating in April with a very special guest speaker and the addition of our 500,000th volume. Stay tuned for details.
