Library Offline, Briefly, at 5pm 3/28

March 28th, 2008

The Library server will be offline for a brief while today, March 28, at 5pm. A bit of maintenance; no need to be concerned, nor to send flowers or cards. All will be restored shortly.

Cold Library March 24-26

March 20th, 2008

Sorry to put a chill on your study plans, but there are some necessary repairs to the heating system serving the Law Library and Wood Hall that just can’t wait. We will be without heat in both buildings from Monday, March 24 through Wednesday, March 26.

So, plan on bringing a warm jacket and perhaps a cap if you will be joining us in the Law Library during the first three days of spring break. Just, you know, keep an eye on that jacket…

Watch Your Jacket and Laptop

March 17th, 2008

A law student’s jacket and wallet appear to have been stolen from the Law Library today. Sadly, this was not the first theft from a campus library this year.

Please keep in mind that the library, the law campus, and Lewis & Clark College as a whole are open to the public most hours of the day.

Be sure to lock your laptop to your desk at all times. We’ve noted a number of laptops left unattended in study cubicles in the reading room and in Wood Hall. Cables are available at the L&C Computer Showroom on the College campus. Be sure to use one, and always take valuable items with you when you step away from your study space, even if only for a very short absence.

For more tips see this Campus Safety Alert issued by L&C Campus Safety a few years ago.
