Boley Celebrates Gay Pride Month

June 5th, 2008

Once again the Boley Law Library celebrates Gay Pride Month by showcasing our collection of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) book collection.

June commemorates the GLBT struggle for freedom, and is also the month in which most gay pride events are held. Our collection includes an array of topics highlighting the GLBT struggle, including books on Military Law, Marriage and Equality, Family and Adoption Rights, as well as a host of others. The book display is located near the Wood Hall entrance to the library.

Interested in learning more? The Oregon State Bar has information highlighting the rights of the GLBT community, as well as the National Gay and Lesbian Law Association. For additional resources on some of the issues most pressing to the GLBT community, visit Sexual Orientation and the Law, a bibliography provided by the Standing Committee on Lesbian and Gay Issues, Social Responsibilities Special Interest Section of the American Association of Law Libraries.

Don’t forget to stop by Portland’s own Pride celebration this month, June 14th and 15th at the Waterfront Park. For other events in and around town, visit Just Out.
