Here is a quick reminder that when the College and Law School are closed because of weather and road conditions, the Boley Law Library is likewise closed. This is the case even during those times when the school is closed but the Registrar’s office is providing final exams.
Also, be sure to check our Holiday and Winter Break schedule for abbreviated hours and closures.
Have a safe holiday break and a happy New Year.
December 22nd, 2008
The Boley Law Library will be closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, January 19, as will Lewis & Clark College, Law School and Graduate School.
We will reopen for business and learning on Tuesday at our regularly scheduled time.
Not sure what to do without your local law library? Nothing wrong with volunteering at one of these Day of Service events (If that link expires, go direct to USA Service).
And on Tuesday, January 20 Lewis & Clark is presenting the “We Are on the Move” Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Celebration.

Check out our Holiday and Winter Break Hours (Dec. 20 – Jan. 11) before making the trek to Boley’s front door. Public and Patent & Trademark Library hours resume January 12.
Here’s wishing you a great break and a happy New Year, from all of us at the Boley Law Library!

Wondering if the Law School and the Law Library are closed? Here’s how to find out:
1. Call the Snow Line: 503-768-SNOW (7669) or 503-768-7965 (SWOK?)
[OK, the Snow Line's official title is the Inclement Weather Line]
2. Go to the College’s web site, www.lclark.edu
These (1 & 2, above) are the two best resources. Do not rely on radio or television messages.
That said, those new to the area may wish to listen to these radio stations or check their web sites for weather and read information:
Same for these television stations and their web sites:
For classess, any media announcement will say “Lewis & Clark College” and will apply uniformly to the law school, the graduate school and the College of Arts and Sciences. In the event of delayed opening, the College as appropriate will announce “opening delayed until 9:30 a.m.” or “morning classes canceled until 11:30 a.m.” or “evening classes will be held/canceled beginning at 5 p.m.” Regularly scheduled classes that begin at or after these times will meet.
Enjoy the full Lewis & Clark School Closure Policy.
Finally, you can always check the Palatine Hill Weather Station for the precise conditions on our fair knoll. The weather station is a service of the College’s Department of Physics.
