Boleypalooza Definition

bol•ey•pa•loo•za

/noun/ A particularly impressive or attractive law library; An event at a particularly impressive or attractive law library where students can learn more about the library and its resources.

Boleypalooza- It's a Library Party

There's no party like a library party!

Boleypalooza is a fast paced, fun filled party that will also help you get to know the library resources.

Starting at noon for day students and 4:30 for night students on August 15th, you are sure to learn plenty about the library.

Find out how to check out books, where to find the printers, what's on course reserve, what else the library has that you can borrow, how to use Boley's website, Bloomberg, Lexis, and Westlaw in a post lunch workshop, and all about Bacon, the pot bellied pig statue.

Activities begin at noon, lunch/dinner, raffles, and prizes follow.

The post lunch workshops will be held in Classrooms 1, 2, 3, and 4 and you will be grouped with your pod color. These workshops are a necessary part of learning to use your new library research tools and will help you in your lawyering and research classes on day one.

We're looking forward to meeting you.

What to Expect at Boleypalooza

library card

Boleypalooza is a library party where you can get to know all about the library. Meet us on the lower level of the Legal Research Center (LRC) where you will receive a library mascot waterbottle/laptop sticker, a bookmark, and a library "pocket card". Take that pocket card around to the different Boley stations where a librarian will stamp the station for you and talk about different things you can find at the library. Once you have 5 or more stamps you can enter your name in a raffle for one of our themed prizes. Earn additional raffle tickets from attending lunch and attending the post lunch workshop.

This year's raffle prizes are focused on starting your law school career and focus on studying, shopping, eating around Portland, and hobbies outside of law school.

We have Laughing Planet burritos for lunch and dinner. You can pick up your food at the top section of the LRC Cafeteria,  then head into your assigned classroom for our workshop on using the library resources and tools. If you have dietary restrictions that you will need a gluten free option, please fill out the information below by Sunday, August 13th at 5:00pm so we can have an alternative meal for you.

Unfortunately the library is still under renovations, but you can peer into the windows and come to our grand opening in September to look around.

Want to get a jump start? You can use the tabs at the top of this page to find interactive pages about the library website, checking out, the people you'll meet at Boley, a map, and the first research tool you might need as a 1L, study aids, or just follow the "Next" buttons at the bottom of the page.
