Boley Law Library response to Coronavirus.

Boley Coronavirus Updates

Update: Food and Drink in the Library Beginning Aug. 25, 2021

In addition to masks, the Law School's policy is that we refrain from eating in the Boley Law Library and Wood Hall and, instead, eat outside or in the Student Lounge. Drinks are allowed if they are in a closed container with a straw that does not require removal of your mask. Need a straw? Ask at the library front desk for your very own reusable Boley straw.

Update: Masks Required Indoors Beginning Aug. 10, 2021

Lewis & Clark is reinstituting a mask requirement for all persons — whether vaccinated or unvaccinated — in public indoor areas on campus, including the Boley Law Library and Wood Hall. All persons must wear a face covering at all times indoors except when in a private office or eating or drinking. For campus updates check the LC COVID-19 Response webpage

Forgot your mask or need a reusable straw? Just ask at the Boley Law Library front desk.

Update: Access Limited Beginning Aug. 9, 2021

Due to continuing COVID-19 concerns, beginning August 9 access to the Boley Law Library will be limited to the Lewis & Clark community until further notice. Alums, attorneys, and members of the public are encouraged to contact a research librarian for alternative resources and explore access to legal research materials with a county law library.

Welcome Back to Boley

We are pleased to welcome everyone back to the Paul L. Boley Law Library. Keep an eye on this page for any ongoing updates to our pandemic-related policies.

Building Access

The Boley Law Library joins the LC campus in opening fully to LC students, staff, and faculty. [Access is otherwise limited beginning Aug. 9. See our update, above.]  View our summer hours. Questions about access to the building and collections? Please contact the Boley front desk at or 503-768-6676.

Seat Reservations for Study Rooms (Only)

Seat reservations are no longer required for Boley and Wood Hall tables and carrels. Online reservations continue for our eight student study rooms, which are now open for group study. Please note that masks are required when study rooms are being used by more than one person.

Vaccinations and Masks

Face coverings are required for all indoor use, whether fully or not yet vaccinated against COVID-19 [See the August 10 update, above].
