Rob Truman

Rob Truman is Associate Dean and Director of the Paul L. Boley Law Library, overseeing all aspects of the library, including research and reference, instructional services, content and collection management, circulation, resource sharing, and planning for future library and technological needs. Rob has taught a variety of legal research classes since 1999, and is currently teaching Legal Research: Environmental Law. He has served the library and the law school as Librarian for Legal Research Instruction; Assistant Director, Electronic Information Services; Reference Librarian; and Assistant Dean for Continuing Legal Education and Director, Oregon Law Institute. He has a J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School and an M.L.S. from Emporia State University. Before coming to LC Law he was in private practice and was a Reference Librarian at the Willamette University College of Law.

 

 

 

Research and Instruction

 

Jim Kite

Jim provides research and reference services for everyone in the Lewis & Clark Law School community, and teaches both Advanced Legal Research and Legal Research: Advising Businesses. He also provides outreach and legal research instruction for the L&C law clinics. Previously, he served as the Branch Librarian for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in Anchorage, Alaska.  Jim also worked as a research librarian at Weil, Gotshal & Manges in Silicon Valley.  He has a B.A. in English Language & Literature from Franklin & Marshall College, a J.D. from George Washington University Law School, and an M.S.L.I.S. from the Catholic University of America. 

 

 

Meredith Weston Kostek

Meredith provides research and reference services for the law school community. She works on engagement with the L&C community through social media, digital Boley, and programming at the library. She also teaches Advanced Legal Research. She received her B.A. in American History with a concentration in jazz history from DePauw University, her J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law, and her M.L.I.S. from Indiana University in Indianapolis. Prior to coming to Boley Law Library, she served as the Island County Law Librarian (Coupeville, WA), Attorney Editor for Thomson Reuters, and Rules and Legislation Attorney for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. 

 

Kian Pakdel

Research & Instruction, Foreign and International Law Specialist

Kian serves as the Foreign and International Law specialist. He provides reference services to library patrons and teaches International and Foreign Legal Research. Kian has a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, a J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School, and an M.L.I.S. from the University of Washington. Prior to joining Boley Law Library, he provided reference and instructional services at the University of Colorado.

Sarah-Lynda Johnson

Sarah-Lynda manages the Collections and Access Services department, where she oversees law library collections, digital content, circulation, and resource sharing. She has a B.F.A. in photography from Marylhurst University and an M.L.S. with concentration in archives studies from Emporia State University. Prior to joining the Boley Law Library, Sarah served on the faculty as Associate Professor, Systems and Reference Librarian at Concordia University, and has worked as a reference librarian, cataloger, and archivist at the Portland Art Museum, Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, Mt. Hood Community College, and Clackamas Community College.

Lara Elliott

Circulation and Resource Sharing Specialist

Lara is responsible for access services, supervision of circulation assistant staff, interlibrary loan and Summit fulfillment, and maintaining the course reserve collection. She previously worked as a circulation supervisor for the University of Portland's Clark Library, and before that as a librarian for the New Orleans Public Library in Louisiana. She has a bachelor's degree in English from California Polytechnic State University (San Luis Obispo), and an MLIS from San Jose State, California. 

Lara Elliott

Sarah Hunsberger

Acquisitions and Circulation Specialist

Sarah is responsible for ordering new library materials, administering the law library's digital repository, and providing support for circulation. She previously worked as a library assistant and a writing tutor at Clackamas Community College. She has a bachelor's degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and has written for newspapers in Iowa, Indiana, New Mexico, and Oregon. She has also worked as a writing coach for The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Liana Rein

Serials and Acquisitions Specialist

Liana is responsible for the acquisition, distribution and maintenance of the entire serials collection. She has a B.M. in Music Therapy from the University of the Pacific in California. Prior to joining the Boley staff, she worked in circulation at the Tualatin Public Library and in the Technical Services Department of the Library at the University of the Pacific.
