Legal Issues in Higher Education: Secondary Sources

This guide was created for the Legal Issues in Higher Education course taught by David Ellis in the Student Affairs Administration program.

Search Terms & Tips

When searching for both books and articles, use subject headings and keywords to identify items of interest.

In the library catalog, search for:

  • "Educational Accountability -- law and legislation -- United States"
  • "Educational law and legislation"
  • "Education, Higher -- law and legislation"
  • "Universities and colleges -- law and legislation"

You can use these same terms when searching for articles in an article database such as HeinOnline, Gale, or EBSCO.

Boley Law Library provides access to one of leading secondary sources on the topic, Education Law. You can read this treatise in person in the library, check it out for a maximum of three hours, and are welcome to scan or make copies of the pages you need for research.
