Welcome

Welcome to your legal research homework. Please complete the exercises that follow by 1:40pm on September 7th.

This exercise takes you through a hypothetical and use of secondary sources to come up to speed on a subject. There are very specific instructions to follow. Please follow each step, even if you know the outcome. These steps will help you remember how to use the different databases available to you for all of your legal research and the thought process on choosing the right secondary source in your research.

Keep track of your research in a research log or trail. You will be directed throughout the exercise what to put in your research trail. You will turn this in via email to Professor Van Vactor by 1:40pm on 9/7/23.

You need Westlaw, Lexis, and Barbooks access to complete the steps. If you do not have access to one or more of these, please fill out this form.
