Online LLM and MSL Library Resources: Library Resources

Access to Library Resources

Boley Law Library provides many resources to students studying in an online LLM program. Online journals, research databases, and ebooks are seamlessly available using an L&C username and password. As soon as you set up your L&C username and password (the same username and password you use for email), you have access to these online resources.

Articles and individual chapters from print journals and books at Boley Law Library and other libraries can also be delivered electronically through our Interlibrary Loan service. Use the form to make your request and indicate that you are an online student. For help with requests, send an email to lawlib@lclark.edu

If you live in the Portland area or are visiting, you are welcome to use the Boley Law Library to study or to check out print material.

What if I don't live in the Portland area and need a Boley book?
Sign in to your Primo account. The sign-in link is located at the top, right-hand side of the screen. After you've signed in, search for the book you want to check out. If it's available at Boley, select Request L&C Item, then under Pickup Location, choose Home Address. We will mail it to you. Books are available to check out for twelve weeks and renewable once for another six weeks. You are responsible for return shipping by the due date.

What if I want to check out a Summit item?
If you live in the Pacific Northwest, you should use the Summit Visiting Patron option at your closest Summit Library. Summit is a consortium of over 30 academic libraries in the Pacific Northwest that share physical resources and borrowing privileges with each other. At the closest Summit Library, let the circulation desk know you're a student at Lewis & Clark, and they'll help you request the book you need from Summit. The book will then be delivered to that library (instead of to us at Boley).

What if I need to request a book via Interlibrary Loan?
Because of the limited check-out time of most interlibrary loan requests, we recommend using your local public library's interlibrary loan service. Remember to first check if a book is available at Boley!

What if I don't live in the United States?
Contact us at lawlib@lclark.edu or contact your personal librarian, Rob Truman, and we'll see how we can help.
