As you get ready for summer jobs and graduation, here is an update on continued use of Bloomberg, Lexis, and Westlaw.
Bloomberg
Summer
You have full use of Bloomberg Law throughout the summer for any type of legal position you have.
Graduation
You have full use of Bloomberg Law for 6 months following your graduation. Reminder if your graduation date is no longer correct, contact lawlib@lclark.edu and we will change your graduation date so you can have the full benefits.
Lexis
Summer
You have full use of LexisAI/Lexis+ throughout the summer for any type of legal position you have.
Graduation
Graduates have access to Lexis+ through December 31, 2025. This access can be used for any purpose. You have access to most of the tools you had during law school excluding, public records, LexisAI, Law 360 (but see free gift below), practical guidance, and LMO.
On July 10, 2025, spring graduated students will no longer have access to the law school student home page. Your home page will switch to a graduate view.
You can select a graduation gift on the graduate view of the home page. Gifts include: 6 months of Intelligize, 6 months of Law360, 6 months of Practical Guidance, and other great resources. We recommend Law360 to stay up to date on your area of law. That is helpful knowledge when interviewing, too.
Finally, the ASPIRE program is dedicated to graduates doing non-profit work. The program provides 12 months of free access to federal and state cases, regulations, law reviews, Shepard's, and treatises to graduates who are working in verifiable 501(c)(3) public interest work. More details can be found on the ASPIRE webpage.
Westlaw
Summer
You may use Westlaw over the summer for any non-commercial use. Non-commercial use includes: summer coursework, research assistant assignments, law review research, moot court research, non-profit work, clinical work, and school sponsored externships.
Graduation
After graduation you can apply for the GradElite program. This program gives you 6 months of access to Westlaw and Practical Law for up to 60 hours per month. You may not use these products for billing a client purposes, but you are encouraged to use the product to learn more about legal research and study for the bar. This is not an automatic program, so please sign up upon graduation. The Grad Elite program does include its AI tools.
You can sign up for the GradElite program using the following steps:
1) Go to www.lawschool.tr.com; Log in; Use the drop-down menu by your name to go to Grad Elite Status
2) Or Click on this link: https://lawschool.westlaw.com/authentication/gradelite
If your graduation date has changed, please contact lawlib@lclark.edu so we can change your graduation date for the different platforms so you have full coverage the entire time you are at law school.
There's more information about alumni and alumni services on our website. Don't forget that chat and email with the law librarians is still available over summer and post graduation, too!
If you have any questions please contact Boley Law Library (lawlib@lclark.edu) and we will walk you through the steps. Best of luck in your future plans.
