Study Aids

Study aids are great study tools from the very first day of classes to studying for your exams. Boley Law Library has digital and print access to many of the top study aids. Find out more in our Study Aid Research Guide, but you can get started with the information below. You can find all of our digital study aids by going to our A-Z database list and selecting 'S' for study aid.

Timeline for Using Study Aids

Here is a basic timeline for finding and using study aids during the course of a semester.

For each of the following 1L Fall Semester courses of Contracts, Torts, and Civil Procedure:

Look at any supplemental texts your professor assigns. The library will have copies on reserve, so you can check them out for 3 hours at a time.

See if we have that supplemental text also available through our study aids online.

Use a Nutshell, Hornbook, or overview text to get a better understanding of the class. (Contracts in a Nutshell) Do this before classes begin or in the first couple of weeks of class.

As you move through the class, find an outline or other study aid that can help you understand the key concepts. (Emanuel Law Outlines) (Examples and Explanations) Read these along with your text throughout the semester. Use the outline to help create your own outline for studying.

Use Past Exams or exam prep study aids as you begin studying for finals. (Exam Pro or CrunchTime series)
