Masks Now Optional
The Law Library and Wood Hall study areas will be mask-optional beginning March 12. This includes the Boley Reading Room, Atrium, Wood Hall Reading Room, and Wood Hall Study Rooms. All LC COVID-related policies apply, including that masks remain required for anybody who has been exposed as a close contact or has themselves tested positive for COVID in the last ten days. See the LC COVID-19 Ongoing Response page What Do I Do Now for the full policy and instructions.
Need a mask? Stop by the Law Library front desk anytime to pick up a surgical-style mask.
Food and Drink
As part of these changes we get to return to our prior food and drink policy:
Beverages are permitted in the law library and in the Wood Hall study areas. Snack food that is not sticky, messy, smelly, or noisy can be brought into the Law Library for consumption, but any meals (including pizza) must be consumed outside the law library.
Food garbage should not go into the waste cans that are in the law library; it may be odorous and definitely attracts insects and book-unfriendly pests. Pack up and deposit your food related trash in the waste cans in the Wood Hall lobby area and please remember to clean up after yourself.
Public Access
For the time being access to the Law Library and Wood Hall study areas remain limited to Lewis & Clark students, faculty, and staff. Alumni may request access to study for their State Bar Exam in the Law Library and Wood Hall Reading Rooms. Please use this form to request access: https://lawlib-lclark.libwizard.com/f/studyrequest. Proof of vaccination is required. Alums, attorneys, and members of the public are encouraged to contact a research librarian for alternative resources, and to explore access to legal research materials with a county law library.
Keep an eye on this page for updates to this policy as we continue to return to more open operations.
