White Rage Book ClubThis year's Martin Luther King, Jr. Lecture series author, Carol Anderson, will discuss her book White Rage: The Unspoken Truth of our Racial Divide with the campus on Wednesday, January 29th. In anticipation of that lecture Boley Law Library is holding a book club discussion on the book.

On Tuesday, January 28th at 12:00 we will meet to discuss the book in Wood Hall Conference Room 221. You can read the ebook through our catalog listing for free. All students, staff, and faculty are welcome to participate. If you have any questions, contact Meredith Kostek (mkostek@lclark.edu)

Here is the back of the book description: "Since 1865 and the passage of the Thirteenth Amendment, every time African Americans have made advances toward full participation in our democracy, white reaction has fueled a deliberate, relentless rollback of any gains. Carefully linking historical flashpoints- from the post-Civil War Black Codes to expressions of white rage after the elections of America's first black president- Anderson renders visible the long lineage of white rage and the different names under which it hides. Compelling and dramatic in the unimpeachable history it relates, White Rage adds a vital new dimension to the national conversation about race in America."
